Is it just me or did August fly by? I have felt the whole summer has gone by so fast and it makes me sad. I do LOVE Autumn/Fall. The smells, the weather. I’m excited. I would like to say that someday I’ll make it through my TBR list but that would just be awful! Could you imagine not having a TBR pile? What if there were just no books you wanted to read!? Hopefully you have some you’re looking forward to. If not read though my old reviews and find one that sounds interesting!!

Okay as always I like to recap what I read. It’s not much this month but a quick YES I recommend or NO I do not.

loves3kiss

The Third Kiss by Kat Colmer was good. It is the start of a new series called Loves Mortal Coil. Its about an ancient love curse that manifests itself when Jonas turns 18. He has 3 kisses and if he doesn’t find the love of his life and plant one of those precious kisses on her then he will be alone and miserable forever. His best friend, Cora happens to be the lucky recipient. Does she help him break the curse or does she fall in love? YES. I liked this book. It is the start of the series so the next book doesn’t come out till next year

northangerabbey

Northanger Abbey. The month of July I tried to read more classics. The only one I really managed was Hamlet. They are really hard for me to read. To get into that style of writing takes time and I was so busy. I started Northanger Abbey in July and finished a week ago. Then afterwards I found the movie on Amazon and really enjoyed both. If you enjoy Jane Austen and classics then YES, read this one!

confess

CONFESS by Colleen Hoover I love Colleen Hoover books. There is something about them that are so real. This story starts out with loss. A young love and a tragic ending. As Auburn is dealing with trying to change some of the decisions she made, she meets Owen. Owen is an artist. He paints confessions others leave through a slot at his studio. His father is not the same after the their loss and as Owen tries to help him, his actions make it so Auburn can never be a part of his life. It seems as if fate is against them but maybe its not. YES. I LOVED THIS BOOK. Colleen Hoover books always have language and some sexual content. I never feel like its too much to keep me from reading her novels, but if that is not up your alley then don’t read ANY of her books. Lol.

fireblood

Fireblood by Elly Blake This is book 2 in the Series. You can read my review for the first book Frostblood. I really enjoyed continuing Ruby and Arcus’ story. As Ruby is thrown into the Fireblood homeland and court she discovers much about her people and herself. Somethings she had longed to know and others that are her worst nightmares come to life. Nightblood is the next in the series and comes out next year. YES. Read it.. or wait till the last book comes out but THEN READ IT.

andidarken

And I Darken by Kiersten White I listened to this one and although I liked it. I didn’t love it. It takes place in the Ottoman Empire. Lada is a princess but because she is a woman she is discarded in everything she does. She is vicious and brutal to win her fathers approval but in the end it doesn’t matter. Lada and her brother Radu are left as prisoners to the Sultan. There they become forgotten and make friends with the Sultan’s youngest son Mehmed. The love triangle between these 3 is .. weird. When Mehmed finally becomes Sultan they talk about war but never really do much. This is a popular series but I just couldn’t get into it. The second book just came out. I’m not going to read it. My recommendation is a READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.

hunted

Hunted by Meagan Spooner I listented to this on Audibles and well and I really liked it. The narrator was a little breathy and not my favorite to listen to at first but I still really really enjoyed it. It is a retelling a Beauty and the Beast but the story is completely different. I would definitely recommend this one. YES!

Thanks for READING!
