This review is going to be a little short but hopefully sweet. I don’t like giving out spoilers .. which if you are reading this review and have not read the first book STOP and at least read the review for Raven Boys first.

The first book left us with the boys waking up the ley line. Adam has sacrificed himself to be the eyes and hands of Cabeswater. Gansey is still searching for Glendower and Ronan is figuring out his secrets. Noah is still just trying to stay around but with the power surges that is difficult. Blue is trying to love Adam so that she won’t love Gansey, but really she adores all the boys and is happy to help find Glendower.

This book is more about Ronan. As you uncover his secrets and find out more about what he is and his connection with Cabeswater, you really grow to love him. We are introduced to a hit man that is referred to as The Grey Man, or at 300 Fox Way, Mr. Grey. Who becomes a fun character. I love his change to his true self, vs who he has had to become. Kavinsky is also a new character and they are (among others) after the Greywarren. Kavinsky is a student with too much money, power and time on his hands. I don’t want to spoil it by getting into Kavinsky, I really could get into a discussion about him and all his issues but not on here! Like I said.. I don’t want to spoil anything.

Since I am keeping this short and sweet I will finish with just saying that this book is a building block in the series. The character and world building. The relationship dynamics and uncovering of secrets make this book one you don’t want to miss. The first book really grabbed my attention and this one has just kept me going. I will be reading the third book next!

Thanks for reading!

Note: I have decided that maybe I have been too generous with my 5 star rating. I will still go by my outline but unless I just ABSOLUTELY adored EVERYTHING about it.. it will not have 5 stars.

I am trying to change a few things on the blog. My categories and pages need to be easier to find and linked better. Hopefully it won’t take me long to get it sorted out and it will be more convenient for you!
