Alosa’s mission is finally complete. Not only has she recovered all three pieces of the map to a legendary hidden treasure, but the pirates who originally took her captive are now prisoners on her ship. Still unfairly attractive and unexpectedly loyal, first mate Riden is a constant distraction, but now he’s under her orders. And she takes great comfort in knowing that the villainous Vordan will soon be facing her father’s justice.
When Vordan exposes a secret her father has kept for years, Alosa and her crew find themselves in a deadly race with the feared Pirate King. Despite the danger, Alosa knows they will recover the treasure first . . . after all, she is the daughter of the Siren Queen.

AHHHHHHHH!! It is here! Aye matey! If you have not read the first book Daughter of the Pirate King I suggest you do so! I have been patiently waiting for the sequel to come out and it is here! I am so happy! I was lucky enough to attend the launch event and got to meet the author! Tricia Levenseller is so sweet and I loved hearing about her process and quite literally writing the book she would love to read. I mean, how can you not want to read about a female pirate that is just as ruthless and smart as all the men. .. and so beautiful with her flaming red hair. I think she could enchant all the men without her siren abilities. Just saying.
Tricia said that she originally had outlined this story as a trilogy. However, the publisher liked the idea of a duology. To all my readers out there that can’t start a series till it is out.. .well.. here you go! I am sad that it is only a duology. Honestly.. I really enjoyed the female crew. The story is one of kind and like Tricia, I feel like we could use some more pirate stories.. and female ones!
On to my review. “You are without doubt the worst pirate I’ve ever heard of.” And of course by that I mean, THE BEST. Alosa is the daughter of the Pirate King. She was brought up and trained to be the best. She has also spent all her time trying to gain her father’s love and trust. After finding the last piece of the map she learns a secret that she never thought possible before. As always, this review is spoiler free so a secret it remains. To Alosa this secret changes everything.
No longer on the Pirate King’s side, Alosa and her crew decide to beat him to Isla de Canta and take the treasure for themselves! Now .. just do as Captain Barbosa and agree that this isn’t already an exciting plot!?
Good. If that isn’t exciting enough. We have sirens. We have treasure. We have cannibals? We have the fun humor of the crew. I like that there is a little back story to the characters. Alosa explains where she found some of her crew and why they are the best of the best. They each have their strengths and together they are pretty impressive. Don’t forget we have Riden aboard. I love the struggle between these two. The trust that has to happen for either of them to take things further. The weight of the the others safety. Not being more because who know if they will still be alive at the end of this. It’s pretty risky. The odds are not in their favor and someone may die. ..
Alosa is very resourceful, and so is her crew. All are very capable and when they encounter near death experiences they fight their way out and laugh later. This book contains love, friendship and messed up parents. .. but most of all PIRATES. If you are wanting something a little bit different, (aka epic sea battles) and a heroine that delivers an adventure you can only dream about then READ THIS BOOK!
I read both of these books very quickly. I couldn’t put them down. Each one was easy to read and kept me interested in the story. I found myself invested in the characters very quickly. Definitely one I will read again. I am actually super sad that it is over. I feel like Alosa has so many more adventurers and I wish so badly I could read about them! Well done Tricia!! Congrats on writing such an amazing story! I can not wait to see what you write next! Something about Vikings?
Thanks for reading!
