This was such a cute proper romance. It is the next book in The Mayfield series following Promises and Primrose. This series is all about an Uncle Elliot that is a Viscount and has taken it upon himself to find matches for the next generation of Mayfields. He has some sort of deal that will improve each of their lives if only they follow through with whatever condition Elliot has deemed fit to help them become better people. In this case Timothy has to marry for money… until he doesn’t because Uncle Elliot has given him a living. He has a very specific idea of what the perfect woman would be.. until a certain Heiress proves him wrong.
What I loved: The slow torture of both Timothy figuring out his feelings and Maryann not being brave enough to tell Timothy how she feels. The world building in this series has been a good one. I like the length of these proper romances. Not too long but long enough that you get a clear picture and a good story.

It really was a sweet romance and you got the feeling of how even though it takes them awhile to get there, it will be a love that lasts.
