Synopsis:

Beauty knows the Beast’s forest in her bones—and in her blood. Though she grew up with the city’s highest aristocrats, far from her father’s old lodge, she knows that the forest holds secrets and that her father is the only hunter who’s ever come close to discovering them.

So when her father loses his fortune and moves Yeva and her sisters back to the outskirts of town, Yeva is secretly relieved. Out in the wilderness, there’s no pressure to make idle chatter with vapid baronessas…or to submit to marrying a wealthy gentleman. But Yeva’s father’s misfortune may have cost him his mind, and when he goes missing in the woods, Yeva sets her sights on one prey: the creature he’d been obsessively tracking just before his disappearance.

Deaf to her sisters’ protests, Yeva hunts this strange Beast back into his own territory—a cursed valley, a ruined castle, and a world of creatures that Yeva’s only heard about in fairy tales. A world that can bring her ruin or salvation. Who will survive: the Beauty, or the Beast?

If you love fairytale retellings then you will love this book! It really might be my favorite retelling of Beauty and the Beast yet! Honestly, the fact that Yeva means “Beauty” in the old language and is the endearment her father uses for her, and the “BEAST” are the only similarities to the movie.

A spell is upon a Prince. A Prince that is centuries old. One where he is half wolf and half man cursed to live out the rest of his eternity in misery. Half the time the Beast isn’t sure which side he is but that they war with one another for dominance. The old hunter has returned to the forest and the Beast is sure he will work to his purpose.

When Beauty is out in the woods trying to remember all her father had taught her about hunting and trying to track her father, she finds him only to fall into the Beasts trap. Does Yeva have the strength and the skill to best the Beast? Or does she learn to find magic and free him of his miserable curse?

I DID love this book. The reason I gave it 3 stars is because, as much I loved it, I will probably not read it again. I also listened to it and the narrator was hard to get used to. She was so breathy. Haha. The story line was good but there was a part that I felt dragged just a bit. Where you kinda know whats going on and for a girl that loves all of these old stories it takes her too long to figure it all out. But, like I said before, I DID really like this book!

Thanks for reading!

  1. […] Hunted by Meagan Spooner I listented to this on Audibles and well and I really liked it. The narrator was a little breathy and not my favorite to listen to but I still really really enjoyed it. It is a retelling a Beauty and the Beast but the story is completely different. I would definitely recommend this one. YES! […]
