Hello there book nerds! I hope everyone is enjoying the fact that SPRING is here. Finally. Unfortunately we started off this wonderful weather and Easter weekend with the flu. It was not fun. I thought I might die. It worked its way through my whole family and it seems we are all finally on the mend. Thanks goodness. I realize I missed a few things that I like to do, so I know it’s April 2 but here is my March Wrap Up. I had a pretty good month. I somehow managed to read 12 books the month of March. I haven’t written a review for all the books I read this month but I will leave a star rating on this post and as always give it a YES, read it or NO, not worth your time.

Here we go..

wintersong

I put off this book thinking it would live up to the hype it was getting. I didn’t really know what it was about but I am so glad I gave it a chance and I want to read the Shadowsong soon. It is a gothic romance set in the world of music and the Goblin King. It has a Jane Eyre feel to it and if you are wanting a love story that is a little bit different then give this one a chance! I gave it 4/5 stars. You can read my review here —> Wintersong by S. Jae-Jones

dotsq

DoTSQ was such a fun read. I had been looking forward to it’s release for pretty much the whole year after I read Daughter of the Pirate King. This story is only a duology but I am telling you that you will wish there was more. I loved the characters and the idea of an all female crew. If you want a good action story with a side of romance then get these two books! They are both pretty quick reads! I gave them both 5 stars. Here are my reviews —> Daughter of the Pirate King, Daughter of the Siren Queen

thehatinggame

The Hating Game is sexy contemporary romance set in a publishing companies office. These two have to work together every day and they are complete opposites. They do everything differently yet are both great at what they do. When a promotion comes up they are both fighting each other for it but it doesn’t take much to cross the line from hate to love. I really loved this romance. I thought the writing was witty and fun. I gave it 5 stars because I am pretty sure I will be reading it again.

makebelievehusband

This historical romance takes place in America during the Revolutionary War. Edward and Cecelia have been exchanging letters though her brother and his best friend Thomas. When Thomas goes missing Cecelia does the only thing she can think of and heads off to America for answers. Only the only person that can help her is in a coma and in order to see him she says she is his wife! I loved this story and can’t wait for the next in this series. Julia Quinn has done it again with this one! I gave it 4 stars! My Review —> The Girl with the Make Believe Husband by Julia Quinn

Thecuriouscharmsofarthurpepper

The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper is novel about finding yourself, no matter your age. Arthur Pepper is a 69 year old man that has never wanted to leave his little town in England. He has his routine that he sticks to no matter what. Now that his wife has passed away he has decided to go through her things and what does he find? A charm bracelet that she had before they were married. One that he has never seen in all the 40 years spent together. As he tried to figure out her past and what the charms mean, he finds himself. I rated it 3.5 stars and really enjoyed his journey to self discovery.

jacktheripper

Stalking Jack the Ripper is an historical fiction set in Victorian England’s Whitechapel district.  I loved how Keri Maniscalco wove between what we really know of Jack the Ripper and fiction. She turned it into a thriller that kept me turning pages as I tried to figure out the mystery. I am going to be reading the next one as well because this one was amazing. I rated it 5 stars.

thebadluckbride

I was lucky enough to receive The Bad Luck Bride for a fun Instagram Tour event for the up coming release of the last book of the series. I thoroughly enjoyed this historical romance. The world building and the character development was fun to watch come together. I can’t wait to read the next books in this series. I gave it 4 stars.

forcastleandcrown

For Castle and Crown is a proper romance that I didn’t make time for a review BUT it was a really good one! As second son to a Dukedom, Edmund left with King Richard on the crusades only to return home to his father dead and his brother and new wife murdered. As he tries to figure out who would do such a thing by navigating the politics between Prince John and King Richard he finds he needs his childhood friend Pippa. When he finally finds her in a Convent, (after being badly burned by the fire that killed his brother) he finds that he needs her more than ever and together they can find who is behind all the harm done to the keep. I gave it 4 stars. The history was interesting and not one I usually read about. It made for a fun historical romance.

theladymostwilling

I hadn’t read this Julia Quinn novel yet and how could I not when Eloisa James and Connie Brockway are also in on it? It is a fun steamy romance where 4 men need 4 brides but where shall they find them? Just kidnap them from the nearest ball and get snowed in all weekend. Things get interesting and more than one man falls in love. I gave it 3.5 stars!

dukeofruin

Darcy Burke has written a series and this book happens to be the 8th book. I haven’t read any of her works before but I did enjoy this story! It was a quick read, or maybe I just fly through romances because I love them so much. Either way I enjoyed it! It just came out March 27th and I do feel intrigued to read more of her stories! I rate it 3 out of 5!

simmeringheat

Simmering Heat comes out May 8th. If you want some heat this one has it. It is a steamy contemporary romance about FIREMEN. Leo has known Jazz since they were children since his mother worked for her parents and are both Doctors who had no time for her. Years later he is back in town they both happen to be in the same wedding party. Things are hotter than ever but can Jazz handle it and stand up to her parents? I thought this book was.. okay. It lacked the depth that really makes it special. It come out May 8th and is part of the Braving the Heat series. I gave it 2 stars.

licks

This one is described as a SEXY SECOND CHANCE ROMANCE. Yes my friends. It is all of those things. It started off a little shaky. I wasn’t sure if I would like where this one was going but I really did. The characters and story were one of kind. It is full of betrayal and love and second guessing. I loved the sexual tension and how honest it felt. They both had real issues that they had to work thought and over come to be together. It come out April 4 and if the mood suits you I would recommend. I gave it 4 stars.

**************************

Sheesh! I must have been in the mood for some romance this month! I really loved most of everything I read. A few of the romances weren’t quite up to par, but this month was really a good one! Now I have a series to tackle the month of April and I heard it is good so I can’t wait! I hope you all are making a dent in those TBR piles. Thanks for reading!

xoxo,
