blackbirdofthegallows

A simple but forgotten truth: Where harbingers of death appear, the morgues will soon be full.

Angie Dovage can tell there’s more to Reece Fernandez than just the tall, brooding athlete who has her classmates swooning, but she can’t imagine his presence signals a tragedy that will devastate her small town. When something supernatural tries to attack her, Angie is thrown into a battle between good and evil she never saw coming. Right in the center of it is Reece—and he’s not human.

What’s more, she knows something most don’t. That the secrets her town holds could kill them all. But that’s only half as dangerous as falling in love with a harbinger of death.

WHAT I LOVED: This one is not what I normally read but I loved that it was a little bit dark and weird. Paranormal romances and friendships and nothing went right. I loved that they had all these crazy things happen. I mean, harbingers of death!! I loved that it was YA. It was funny and had all the makings of a teen horror movie.

WHAT I HATED: There really isn’t much I hated about this one. After I read teen books I always feel like I wanted more BUT that is how they need to be written for that genre. I will say that it just isn’t what I usually like to read. If you like dark, paranormal teen romance then you will love this one. I gave it 3.5 because I didn’t love love love it, but I like it enough to read the next one.

* The next book as I understand isn’t necessarily a sequel. I read that they can both be read as stand alone novels.
